This room houses a collection of artefacts from the Victorian period of Cardiff Castle. From the overseas travels of the Bute family to the household chores of the servants, a handling collection allows students to study objects chosen to inspire them and stimulate discussion. Resources for activities include Victorian costumes, domestic items, toys and a model of the Castle.
A selection of replica armour, weapons, costume and domestic items are available for students to try on, handle and discuss. In addition, there are original 'finds' recovered during archaeological digs at the Castle. Roman and Norman resources can be used separately or together, to suit the needs of individual groups.
