The Beast and the Bethany with Jack Meggitt-Phillips

Suggested for ages: 8+
Language: English

Join author Jack Meggitt-Phillips for a beastly introduction to the adventures of 511-year-old Ebenezer Tweezer and orphan Bethany. Hear lively readings from the book (with puppetry!), help Jack decided what to feed the beast next and write your very own short stories with creative writing tips and prompts from Jack. The Beast and the Bethany was named by David Walliams as one of his top Christmas reads.

Cardiff Children’s Literature Festival is held annually and aimed predominantly at primary school children aged 3-11. Since 2013, the festival’s goal has been to encourage a lifelong love of reading in young people, with an exciting ensemble of literary events in both English and Welsh, hosted by incredible guest authors and illustrators.

Each spring for a whole weekend, some of Cardiff city centre’s most iconic venues are taken over by a packed programme, including storytelling and book reading, writing and drawing workshops, craft activities, quizzes and games, and even the occasional appearance of a character or two!
