National Museum Cardiff is situated in the heart of Cardiff’s elegant civic centre, it houses Wales’s national art, geology and natural history collections as well as major touring and temporary exhibitions.

The site of Cathays Park was formerly part of the Castle grounds but was sold to the local council by the 3rd Marquess of Bute in 1898 with strict instructions that the land was only to be developed for civic, cultural and educational purposes.

National Museum Cardiff is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00-17:00, admission is FREE.
