ROAD CLOSURES AND TRAVEL ADVICE FOR FRIDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER

14 September 2022

With Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort visiting Cardiff on Friday, September 16, a number of roads will be closed to facilitate the event and to keep the public safe.

All those travelling to Cardiff for the Royal Visit are advised to plan their journey in advance and leave plenty of time to get into the city and where possible, use public transport.

Local residents are strongly encouraged to leave their car at home and either take the bus, train or walk and cycle if they are able.

Accessibility and opportunities for viewing and parking may be limited, particularly for the Llandaff event where several road closures and parking restrictions have already been put in place. Better opportunities to see the Royal Party will be available at the castle and the Senedd.

Work is ongoing with the Welsh Government and South Wales Police to manage any congested areas, with significant numbers of stewards drafted in alongside police officers to help keep the public safe.

Our advice is to plan ahead, dress for the weather, bring plenty of water, prepare for long periods of standing, expect crowds and watch out for those around you and with you. More details on the visit will be published as soon as we are allowed.
