THE CASTLE CAFÉ & BAR

A perfect place to take a break within Cardiff city centre, just take a seat and treat yourself to a bite to eat or a refreshing drink, with a backdrop of our iconic Castle. Choose from a variety of hot and cold drinks and alcoholic beverages, or treat yourself to some tasty sweets.

THE GIFT SHOP

The Castle Gift Shop features an eclectic selection of beautiful gifts and keepsakes, including Welsh gold, crystal and exquisite jewellery. Traditional Welsh crafts, such as love-spoons, are also available, plus a castle-themed children’s section with everything a would–be knight or princess might need.

VISIT CARDIFF INFORMATION POINT

The Information Point hosts interactive touchscreens and a variety of literature including brochures, flyers and maps, that will help you plan your visit around Cardiff and the region.

TICKET OFFICE

The focal point to buy admission tickets, upgrade to a tour or answer any enquiries you may have about Cardiff Castle. Top Tip: During busy periods, we may sell out of admission tickets, or there may be a queue to buy tickets so save yourself time by purchasing tickets online prior to your visit.

THE CASTLE CAFÉ TERRACE

Situated on the Castle’s spacious terrace, this spot has the best view in Cardiff! Relax in the covered, outdoor seating area and take in the spectacular views of the Norman Keep and the Castle grounds. Choose from a variety of hot and cold drinks and alcoholic beverages, or treat yourself to some tasty sweets.

THE PUBLIC SQUARE

If you’re planning a trip to Cardiff and would like a lovely spot to to catch up with friends or relax after hitting the shops, then come and use the public square in the beautiful setting of the Castle’s outer lawn. Please note, the public square is closed at certain times throughout the year for a variety of events including DEPOT Live, and during the Christmas period is used to host Cardiff's Winter Wonderland, see more information below. When the public square is closed, visitors can make use of benches and green space located behind the Castle Cafe terrace.

KEEP ONLY TICKET

Public Square users who would like to climb the Castle’s impressive twelve-sided Norman Keep can do so for a small fee. There are approximately 50 steep stone steps leading to the Keep entrance and further steps to reach the viewing platform, but it’s worth the effort!

Senior / Student / Disabled £6.00

Please note that the steps may not be suitable for all visitors and that it may be necessary to close the Keep during adverse weather conditions. Keep Only tickets cannot be upgraded with Guided Tour tickets.
