Changes to Opening Hours

From 10 June to 5 August, we are welcoming globally renowned artists to Cardiff Castle as part of the Summer Concert Series. If you are planning to visit during this time, please note that there will be some changes to our regular opening hours on event days.

Tickets for all of the affected days are available to book online, clearly marked as early closure, or from the Castle’s Ticket Office, where a member of staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

We recommend around 90 mins as the duration of an average visit, so it is still possible to enjoy the Castle’s full range of attractions on dates with shorter opening hours.

EARLY CLOSURES

On the following event days, the Castle will be closing at the slightly earlier time of 16:00, with final admissions at 15:00:

• Fri, 23 June – Queens of the Stone Age
• Sun, 25 June – Rag ‘n’ Bone Man
• Tue, 27 June – The Chicks
• Sun, 02 July – Sting
• Tue, 04 July – The Cult
• Wed, 05 July – Westlife
• Thu, 06 July – Hozier
• Fri, 07 July – The Lumineers
• Fri, 21 July – Tom Jones
• Sun, 23 July – Ben Howard
• Mon, 24 July – Tom Jones
• Sat, 05 August – Tom Jones

On the following date, the Castle will be closing at 14:00, with final admissions at 13:00:

• Sat, 22 July – Private Event

On the following event days, the Castle will be closing at 12:00 midday, with final admissions at 11:00:

• Sat, 10 June – Fisher
• Sat, 01 July – Glitterbox

On the following event days, there will be a full closure of the Castle in effect:

• Sat, 17 June – Pride Cymru 2023
• Sun, 18 June – Pride Cymru 2023
• Sat, 08 July – DEPOT in the Castle: Bastille (Headline)

THE PUBLIC SQUARE

From Friday 9 June, the Castle grounds will have concert staging and associated infrastructure in place until the climax of the Summer Concert Series. During this time, it will not be possible to use the Public Square on the outer green.

However we still encourage anyone to access the Castle’s Visitor Centre, free of charge, where you can use the Visitor Information Point, Castle Cafe & Bar, and Gift Shop.
