Changes to Opening Hours

Wed, 22 May 2024

Changes to Cardiff Castle’s opening hours for the 2024 Summer Concert Series.

Beginning with Fisher on Wed 8 June, TK MAXX presents DEPOT Live are bringing an incredible mix of globally renowned artists to Cardiff Castle for the 2024 Summer Concert Series.

The series will culminate with DEPOT in the Castle, Cardiff’s annual one-day festival, headlined by international pop sensation, Anne Marie on Sat 27 July.

In addition to a stellar list of shows, the Castle will also host the Pride Cymru celebration weekender on Sat 22nd and Sun 23rd June.

On each event day some changes to the Castle’s regular opening hours will be necessary, with either early or full closures scheduled.

If you are planning a visit during the concert season, please note the last entry times given for each date below and that the Castle will close to visitors one hour following final admissions.

CLOSED

The duration of an average visit, not including a guided tour, is recommended at approximately 90 mins, so it is still possible to enjoy the Castle’s full range of attractions.

Tickets for the affected days are available to book online, clearly marked as early closures; or from the Castle’s Ticket Office, where a member of staff will be happy to answer any questions.

Please note that the Castle will be fully closed to visitors during both days of the Pride Cymru weekend and for DEPOT in the Castle.

If you would like to attend this year’s Summer Concert Series, any remaining tickets can be purchased by visiting depotcardiff.com. Pride Cymru tickets can be booked at pridecymru.com.

If you have any queries concerning attendance at the summer concerts, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions.

THE PUBLIC SQUARE

In preparation for the 2024 Summer Concert Series, installation of staging and other associated infrastructure will commence from Wed 29 May.

This will remain in place until clearance of the site is completed, approximately two weeks following the final show on Sat 27 July.

During this time, both the Public Square on the Castle’s Outer Green and the North Gate entrance from Bute Park will be closed.

However, we do still encourage members of the public to access the Castle’s Visitor Centre, free of charge, where you will find the city’s Visitor Information Point, the Castle Café & Bar, and our Gift Shop.
