Closure During December

Following the latest changes to coronavirus regulations for heritage attractions, Cardiff Castle will be closed from Sat 5 Dec until further notice.

Firebreak Closure

This period of closure will continue until at least Thu 17 Dec, pending the first Welsh Government review of these new measures.

For further information on what this means for Castle tickets and Santa’s Victorian Tours, please see below…

During this time general admission to the paid areas of the Castle will not be possible and any pre-booked tickets will be automatically refunded.

The Castle will remain open on Thu 3 Dec and Fri 4 Dec, if you’d like to visit us before we close then more information can be found here.

The Castle’s Public Square will remain open from 10:00 – 18:00 daily, so please come in and enjoy in the picturesque surroundings. A selection of food and drink will be served at the Keep Dining Experience between 10:00 – 17:00.

Unfortunately, the latest restrictions also mean that we will have to cancel all Santa’s Victorian Tours from Sat 5 Dec until at least Wed 16 Dec. Our sincere apologies for any disappointment caused, all tickets will be refunded as swiftly as possible.

Once updated guidance is provided we will make a decision about the remaining dates in December. Sessions on Tue 1 Dec and Thu 3 Dec will go ahead as planned.

Thank you all for your continued understanding, please stay safe.
