OPENING TIMES & TICKET PRICES
Due to the uncertainty of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently releasing tickets for online bookings on a monthly basis. Please note that Castle Key and Annual Pass holders do not need to book tickets.

OPENING TIMES
Cardiff Castle is open to visitors 7 days a week all year round, including bank holidays. The only exceptions are 25 December, 26 December and 1 January, when we are closed. However, there may also be certain special event days during the year where admission is only open to event ticket holders.

TOUR PRICES
Castle ticket holders who would like to see more of Cardiff Castle, or delve more deeply in to its fascinating history can also book on to one of our guided tours. House Tours run every day on the hour, Clock Tower tours are available on weekends and bank holidays through the summer season, or you can hear a chilling chapter from the Castle’s history brought back to life in Black Tower Tales.

Bring your smartphone, plus a pair of earphones, and you can follow our audio guide by downloading the free app. If you can’t use your smartphone for any reason, handheld guides are available to hire (subject to availability) from the Castle’s ticket office for just £2.

ANNUAL PASS
There’s a lot to take in during one visit, so you might need to come back and make sure you haven’t missed anything. If so, upgrade your general admission ticket to an Annual Pass with FREE ENTRY for a whole year, not to mention a 10% discount at the Castle Gift Shop and Keep Dining Experience!

Did you know that the Castle was given to the people of Cardiff in 1947? If you live or work in the city then you are entitled to your very own Castle Key, giving you FREE ENTRY to this world-class heritage attraction for 3 years!

THE PUBLIC SQUARE
FREE ENTRY during opening hours.
Visitors and city centre users are welcome to come in and relax in the beautiful setting of the Castle’s outer green, free of charge. While you’re here, you can also pick up a souvenir at the Castle Gift Shop or sit down for a bite to eat and a beverage at The Keep Terrace kitchen and bar. Visitors seeking more information about the city should stop by the Cardiff Visitor Information Point, located just inside the main gate.
