With no tricks of the eye or special effects, Tŷ Hafan’s firewalk is a fundraising challenge for those who dare!
This thrilling challenge involves walking bare foot across 5 metres of 800 degree burning wood embers in grounds Cardiff Castle. No special effects, just you and the fire!
You will be given a fundraising pack and the full support of the Tŷ Hafan team to help you successfully reach your fundraising target.
You don’t need any previous experience as all necessary training will be provided on the day. The entry fee is £25 per person with a sponsorship target of £150.

This event is for people aged 18 or over.
For anyone wanting to blast the winter blues with an amazing ‘mind over matter’ challenge, Cardiff Castle is set to provide the atmospheric backdrop to Tŷ Hafan’s Firewalk on Sunday 29th March.
There, thrill-seekers will be coached to face their fears and overcome them enabling them walk 5 metres over 800 degree burning wood embers.
James Davies-Hale, Head of Fundraising for Tŷ Hafan, says: “When a child’s life will be short, Tŷ Hafan will walk alongside that family every step of the way through life, death and beyond.
“Our Firewalk at Cardiff Castle will be a brilliant opportunity for anyone to embrace their mind over matter potential and use it to support a great cause.”
Abbe Skyes, of Llanelli, did Tŷ Hafan’s Firewalk last year.
“It was an absolutely fantastic experience! I loved every second! That’s me holding the poster in memory of my friend’s little girl,” she says.
“Tŷ Hafan are such a wonderful support to children and families who need help through the toughest of times.
“The firewalk team give you excellent training, the charity support you all the way, and the group that I walked with were the loveliest people. It was fantastic! And it didn’t hurt!
“I felt invincible after firewalking, and so, so happy to have been able to help Tŷ Hafan to provide an indispensable service to the children and families that need them.”
James Davies-Hale adds: “It’s just £25 per person to sign up plus we ask everyone to commit to raising a minimum of £150 for our charity.
