Cardiff Castle will be reopening to visitors from Saturday 29 January.

After being closed since Christmas Day, Cardiff Castle will be pleased to raise the portcullis and open our gates to visitors once again from Saturday 29 January. The Public Square will also return, with free entry for everyone to come and enjoy the grounds. We can’t wait to welcome you all back.

Before coming, make sure you check our opening hours and prices, admission tickets are available to book online. To make the most of your visit, bring your earphones and download the Cardiff Castle app with our free audio guide. Alternatively, you can book on to a guided tour to see more of the house and hear some of its fascinating history, just ask at the ticket office.

If you currently live or work in Cardiff, remember that you are eligible for your very own Castle Key, giving you free entry for a minimum of 3 years. Other benefits include a 10% discount in the Castle Café and Gift Shop!

As we reopen, Wales is returning to Alert Level 0 with a reduction of many Covid restrictions. Please remember that wearing of face masks is still a legal requirement in indoor public places and on public transport. If you are unsure of the current rules then please read the latest guidance from Welsh Government before you travel.
